Ecogear began in Daejeon in 2023 with one question: why treat every crate alike when no two crates are alike?
Why we started.
Before founding Ecogear, Park Jihoon advised mid-scale packing houses on post-harvest quality. He saw the same pattern repeatedly: facilities managed loss at storage and retail, while the 18 to 72 hour stretch from packing to the first distribution scan remained a black box.
That loss follows patterns. With the right data, batch origin conditions, variety, packing temperature, and intake surface state can predict it. Ecogear was built for this window.
We paired a physical barrier, the coating, with an AI triage layer by design. Coating without triage spends material where it is not needed. Triage without coating gives predictions teams cannot act on. The system needs both.

Park Jihoon
CEO and Co-Founder
Park Jihoon advised mid-scale packing houses on post-harvest quality across Chungcheong and Jeolla provinces before founding Ecogear. His work with growers and packagers shaped the product's two-layer design: coating without intelligent triage, and triage without coating, each addresses only half the problem.
Kim Sanghoon
CTO and Co-Founder
Kim Sanghoon worked in applied machine learning at an agricultural AI research group before joining Ecogear. He built the first shelf-life prediction model using data from Park Jihoon's advisory work, connecting the two co-founders. He leads AI routing architecture and sensor integration.
Lee Yuna
Head of Field Operations
Lee Yuna came to Ecogear from logistics at a produce distribution company, where she handled inbound quality checks and rejection-rate tracking across several supplier contracts. She manages customer onboarding, pilot setup, and ongoing support for active facilities, along with the field-data feedback loop that improves the AI model between seasons.

Research and development is based in Daejeon's Daedeok Science Town. Field operations reach packing facilities in South Chungcheong, North Gyeongsang, South Gyeongsang, Jeju, and nearby agricultural regions.
